Planning & Zoning Commission

Purpose

The Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z) is responsible for reviewing new commercial and residential development proposals for buildings within the city. The P&Z reviews and makes recommendations to the City Council on subdivision plats, site plans, Zoning Ordinance amendments, Comprehensive Plan amendments, specific use permits, and rezoning requests.

Upcoming meeting dates can be found on the Event Calendar and agendas are posted 72 hours prior to the meeting on the website and the bulletin board outside the main entrance door at City Hall. Notices which must be advertised are published in the official city paper.

Membership consists of seven members. All volunteers must live within the city limits. Members serve for two-year staggered terms.
