Purpose
The Parks and Recreation Board was created to assist Council in making recommendations pertaining to the master park plan as well as recommendations of new park facilities and recreations programs.
Golf
The City of Gunter is served by the Bridges Golf Club which has an 18-hole par-72 Signature Golf Course designed by Masters Champion Fred Couples. The course is 7,600 yards long with 5 sets of tees and includes extensive practice range facilities and a luxurious clubhouse.
Gunter Parks Foundation
The Gunter Parks Foundation is dedicated to preserving, protecting, enhancing and promoting our city park. Its purpose is to acquire financial resources through contributions to make park improvements that provide the community an opportunity to play, gather, celebrate and learn.
State Parks and National Wildlife Refuge
- Eisenhower State Park – 30 miles
- Ray Roberts Lake State Park – 25 miles
- Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge – 30 miles
Board Members
Membership consists of five volunteers who reside in the city limits. Members serve for one-year terms. Meetings normally occur on the last Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
